Today was our first real century! My trip meter reads 100.07 miles. We rode from a little outside Fallon, to Austin, NV. We rode a part of what is called 'The Loneliest Road'. There were huge sections of long flag straight road, with little passes in between. We were very fortunate to have a slight tail-wind most of the time, so we averaged just over 16 miles per hour.

You guys are nuts! But we are all proud of you. Justin told us about your plan and then emailed us the link to your blog so we could track your progress.
Last Saturday I rode 50 miles with my son as he finished his cycling merit badge. We started near "Moons Ranch" and followed the Duchesne River through Hanna, Tabiona, in to Duchesne, and then on to Bridgeland. Except for the 20 mph head wind it was a wonderful ride. I learned that 50 miles is way harder than 25 - especially on a mountain bike. I also learned that rivers don't really flow down hill since the ride seemed like uphill all the way. My GPS says we climbed 1200 feet and descended 3400, for a net loss of 2200. But with the headwind it sure seemed to have more uphill than that.
But we survived it. I can't imagine doing 60-100 miles per day - day after day.
Good luck,
Dee Gardiner
I love Fallon. I sang there a long time ago. I even made up a Benji like joke- "I've Fallon and I can't get up!" Anyway, I'm glad to see you guys are doing well. 100 miles in a day is amazing! Amy and I are rooting for you. Take Care!

I dunno, Mark. Lovin' Fallon is not nearly as fun as Fallon in love.
Nathan, I'm stoked that you got in a full century. Is this the first time you hit the hundred mile mark ever, or the first time on this trip? Either way, it's fantastic milestone. Keep riding solid!
